Australian Rhythmic group makes final at FIG World Challnge Cup in Pamplona
Australia was represented by seven incredible rhythmic gymnasts at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Pamplona, Spain last weekend. In the group section, the Australian Senior Group of Ainsley Barker, Ashleigh Law, Charlotte Wong, Laura Gosling and Taylah Smith (pictured above) displayed their talents across two apparatus', ultimately qualifying for the final in Ribbon and Ball, where they finished with a score of 19.400, in eight place overall.
Also competing in the individual portion of the event were Phoebe Learmont and Veronika Ushakova, with both demonstrating great skill in their Ball routine especially, finishing in 27th and 28th place with all-around scores of 90.300 and 89.550 at the end of qualifications.
Congratulations to all gymnasts who should be incredibly proud of their efforts.
Next week, Phoebe and Veronika will again compete in the individual disciplines at the second event in the series in Portimão, Portugal. There, they will also join teammates Jasmine Reichhart, Lidiia Iakovleva and Saskia Broedelet to compete as a Group for the first time overseas.
