GYMNASTICS SA PERFORMANCE PATHWAY SQUADS ARE BACK INTO TRAINING!

Over the last two weeks the State Squads for Women’s Artistic Gymnastics and Trampoline Gymnastics were back in action!

On Saturday 18 July, the Accelerated Gold, High Achievers and Development Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Squad athletes and coaches attended the first development opportunity for 2020. Talented athletes are required to qualify to these squads, and it is a huge achievement to be selected onto one of these squads. To view the successful squad members, please click here.

Training consisted of practical and theory-based learning. Athletes were also treated to master classes from dance professionals Alyssa Page and Liliana Ciobanu, to assist with building the athlete’s artistic capacity. It was a fun, positive and inspiring day for all.

On Saturday 25 July, the International, National Levels and Development Squad Trampoline athletes were bouncing back into gymnastics! Squad Coordinators, Sophie Cole, Emmeline Fragnito, Mikaela Lange took the lead in presenting these training's, with the support of Talent Pathways Coordinator, Daniel Lynch. Trampoline training was held at Blackwood Gymsports and athletes from 4 clubs/ programs were in attendance. Training focused on a combination of technique and linking skills. The gym was full of smiling and motivated faces, the enjoyment of training together again clearly visible.

Gymnastics SA is extremely proud of the athletes and coaches accepted into these squads and we will be tracking their development over the coming months!
